Meet the Class of 2022: Minster Bank Scholarship Recipients

Four recipients of the 2022 Minster Bank college scholarship.

For Minster Bank, giving back to the communities we serve is a true privilege. One of our favorite ways to do this is through our annual scholarship program. In 2022, we awarded a total of $15,000 in scholarships to 15 local graduating high school seniors in the communities we serve.

To be eligible for the scholarship, each recipient must meet the following criteria:
• A graduating senior with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
• Planning a two- or four-year degree with a major in business at an accredited community, private or public university.
• Has never received a suspension from high school, which would negate eligibility for the scholarship.

Without further ado, here are the 2022 scholarship recipients:

Ayden Rench: Covington High School
Ayden Rench: Covington High School

Ayden’s parents are Shanda and Jim. He plans to attend Edison State Community College, majoring in theatre/acting. In high school, Ayden participated in Drama Club, cross country, baseball, National Honor Society and Academic Team. Honors he has received include the President’s Award for educational excellence, Academic Excellence Award, American Citizenship Award, Red Card Honor grad and being a Scholar-Athlete.

Abigail Swearingen: Fairlawn High School

Abigail’s parents are Brent and Libbey. She plans to attend Florida Gulf Coast University, majoring in supply chain management. In high school, Abigail participated in FFA, track, cheer, Student Council and Honor Society. Honors she has received include being an FFA officer, class president and Most Valuable Runner, in addition to earning a 4.0 GPA at the top of her class.

Colleen’s parents are Jeff and Stacy. She plans to attend The Ohio State University, majoring in business/finance. In high school, Colleen was involved in volleyball, basketball, National Honor Society, Mathletes, Yearbook, History Club and FCCLA. She was also a Senior Class Officer and United Way Representative.

Elijah’s parents are Matt and Becky. He plans to attend the University of Dayton – Sinclair Academy, majoring in civil engineering. In high school, Elijah served as vice president of the FFA chapter and was a member of the varsity basketball and varsity baseball teams.

Samuel’s parents are Jerry and Karen. He plans to attend Miami University, majoring in business – marketing and sales. In high school, Samuel was involved in Student Council, LCHS Stock Club and National Honor Society. He was also Junior and Senior Class President, President of the LCHS Stock Club and Buckeye Boys State Delegate, in addition to receiving perfect attendance for all four years of high school.

Alexis’ parents are Chad and Jenny. She plans to attend Grace College to study business/prelaw. In high school, Alexis was involved in cheerleading, CYO, 4-H, Spanish Club, Art Club and Project Everybody. She also served as a High School Ambassador.

Maura’s parents are Ben and Jill. She plans to attend The Ohio State University Lima Campus, majoring in agricultural communications.

Emma Bambauer: New Bremen High School

Emma’s parents are Rob and Michele. She plans to attend Hocking College to major in fashion design and retail merchandising. In high school, Emma participated in FFA, 4-H, golf, bowling and the Ohio Youth Capital Challenge. She also received the following honors and awards: FFA State Degree, Garden Sweepstakes Winner, Player of the Year in bowling, Scholar-Athlete and OHSAA Courageous Student Award.

Avery’s parents are Jeff and Shelley. She plans to attend Wheeling University to major in accounting. In high school, Avery was involved in Fellowship of Christian Athletes and National Honor Society. She also made First Team All MAC in basketball and volleyball and was MAC Champion in the discus.

Audrey’s parents are Dan Ruth and Jenny Bishop. She plans to attend Miami University, majoring in economics. In high school, she participated in DECA, School-Based Enterprise (DECA Depot), National Honor Society, cheerleading squad, Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Women’s Chorus and Friends of Rachael.

Landon’s parents are Darin and Renee. He plans to attend Edison Community College, majoring in business. In high school, he was involved in National Honor Society, Student Government, Key Club and basketball. He also made the Dean’s List and Highest Honors and was TV productions lead, in addition to doing volunteer work and working as a landscaping business entrepreneur.

Daniel’s parents are Craig and Jessy. He plans to attend The Ohio State University, majoring in economics. In high school, he was involved in baseball, marching band and National Honor Society.

Noah’s parents are Shaun and Jessi. He plans to attend Ohio Christian University to major in business. In high school, Noah participated in golf, choir, basketball, football and Youth Life Group. He also helped out as a volunteer for Operation Christmas Child – Samaritan’s Purse.

Evangeline’s parents are Stephen and Rosemary. She plans to attend Ohio University, majoring in accounting. In high school, she was involved in cross country, track, Chess Club, Student Congress, National Honor Society and the Ohio Art Education Association. She also made the Greater Western Ohio Conference Second Team.

Connor’s parents are John and Jennifer. He plans to attend the University of Northwestern Ohio to major in business. In high school, Connor was involved in sports and band.
