Primary EyeCare Partners with Minster Bank for Expansion, Business Services

When it comes to doing business, you need a partner you can trust.

That’s why Karen Fortman, doctor of optometry at Primary EyeCare Associates, said she and her partners at the practice chose Minster Bank when they needed to expand.

20 Years and Counting With Minster BankPrimary EyeCare Associates Welcome

Fortman joined Primary EyeCare after she graduated from The Ohio State University College of Optometry in 1994. She then became a partner in 2000.

Today, the practice has offices in four locations: Jackson Center, Fort Loramie, Sidney and Troy, Ohio.

Fortman said she’s been acquainted with Minster Bank for more than 20 years from her personal banking experiences.

“I became a customer of Minster Bank back in 1996 when my husband Jim and I built our home that we still live in today,” said Fortman. “Minster Bank was our lender for our home mortgage.  Once we owned our home, we sought lending assistance again when we purchased another home as a rental property.”

In 2015, the Primary EyeCare Associates partners decided to expand their Ft. Loramie and Troy offices. The expansion would add room for more equipment and two doctors at a time, as well as provide additional leasable space for business tenants.

They decided to partner with Minster Bank for their financing needs for two reasons: Trust and convenience. Commercial loan officer Ron Meyer, whom Fortman had known since high school, assisted with the plans.

“Ron and his colleagues have made doing business with them very convenient,” said Fortman. “They go above and beyond to respond promptly to our needs and concerns, and generally come to us to manage business transactions instead of us having to travel to them.”

Fortman said this was a big factor in making the renovation process as smooth as possible.

“Having business partners like Ron Meyer that we trust and could count on helped relieve much of that stress,” she said.

Because of the bank’s previous partnership with Primary EyeCare – it had financed the land to build the Sidney office in 2003 – as well as her personal experiences, Fortman said, “They had earned our business.”

Advice for New Business Owners

To those considering opening a new business – or to current owners looking to expand – Fortman had two pieces of advice.

“If you are a local small business owner or desire to become one, and are seeking a business loan for the capital that you need in your business … call Ron,” she said. “Then borrow what you need and pay it back as fast as you can!”
